As Easter approaches I’m reminded of two things: it’s officially spring and that I have a love/hate relationship with Marshmallow Peeps. Despite not actually liking them and making it known to everyone, these sugary blobs still find their way into my world each Easter and I expect that there will be a pack of them hiding somewhere in my apartment come Monday morning. While they’ve been a holiday constant in my life, Peeps have only been around since 1953 when they were first introduced. In just a few minutes of searching I found out a bit about the colorful history of the candy. Even more interesting was that Peeps had their own documentary (teaser posted above) , Power Of The Peep, whose director won an award for Best Food Filmmaker. I might not want to spend a minute eating another Peep but I would be curious to watch the 43 minute documentary as learning the origin of anything piques (not peeps) my interest. Unfortunately it seems as if the documentary isn’t available anywhere so the trailer will have to do.
